Dedicated Teacher Awards 2020

Praise is a powerful thing. Did you know that receiving a compliment and earning a cash reward activates the same part of your brain? It doesn’t just stop their either. Giving praise has been shown to have positive mental effects too. When we found this out, we started thinking about the people we’d like to thank.   

Here at the Press, teachers mean a lot to us; if it wasn’t for teachers, we wouldn’t even be here! Which is why we are joining with people around the world for the second year to give teachers the praise they deserve.

Say thank you

The Dedicated Teacher Awards recognise teachers for the everyday things they do to bring a smile to their students’ faces.

Do you know a teacher who never fails to wow classes with her teaching methods, or maybe someone who is always there with kind words at a difficult time? We want to hear about them! Nominations close on 29 November 2019.

An external judging panel will choose the best stories and we’ll dedicate our 2020 publishing to six teachers. Here are last year’s finalists:

The lucky finalists will also receive free Cambridge resources, as well as an invitation to our exclusive community – the Cambridge Panel.

Winner

Finalists will go to a public vote on 20 January 2020, where they will compete for the title of ‘world’s most dedicated teacher’. The winner will enjoy an expenses-paid trip to Cambridge, joining us at our 2020 conference for knowledge sharing, the presentation of their award, and most importantly, a big celebration!

If you know a current primary or secondary teacher who deserves some praise – we want to know about them. Go to the Dedicated Teacher website and tell us a story about a time that a teacher did something great – you can write or video your nomination.

And don’t forget to let your teacher know you’ve nominated them… as we found out at the beginning of this article, it’s a rewarding experience for both you and them!
